FloodSax helping to put smiles on children’s faces this Christmas

FloodSax is helping one of its major distributors to provide toys for children who are ill or in need this Christmas.

Industrial and drainage suppliers GK&N Services Ltd – based in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire - provided toys worth £3,000 last Christmas and is doing another toy appeal this year.

The toys will go to the food bank run by the Full Life Church in Holmfirth along with Huddersfield Royal Infirmary, Calderdale Royal Hospital and Sheffield Children’s Hospital.

People are welcome to take brand new toys to the company’s base at Lee Mills Industrial Estate, Parkside, Scholes, HD9 1RT until Monday, December 8. They should be unwrapped, new and in their original packaging.

Alternatively, they can simply donate money and the company will buy the toys.

GK&N Services office manager Olivia Turner said: “We try to buy everything locally so we get most of the toys from toy store Nellie’s in Holmfirth.

“We are getting wonderful support from our suppliers, customers and the Holme Valley community.”

FloodSax were devised by Golcar-based Environmental Defence Systems Ltd which is also based in Huddersfield and sells the alternative sandbags worldwide to protect buildings from flooding inside and out.

Lucy Bailey from the company said: “It’s amazing what GK&N Services are doing so we were very keen to support them and help in any way we could.

“Christmas is a special time for children and it’s so important every child has a gift to open and a happy memory no matter what hardship they may be going through in their lives.”
