FloodSax FAQ

How do FloodSax® work?

FloodSax® absorb water to become taut and puncture–proof within five minutes. Once the water is in there, it stays in there and the bags act just like sandbags to keep floods at bay. They are designed so they mould into doorways to keep floodwater out.

They are incredibly quick to fill with water and their semi-porous inner liner has hundreds of absorbent crystals which retain the water against tremendous pressure.

How do I know FloodSax® will do the job?

The manufacturers have put the prototypes through tough tests before the finished version has been made - they have already proved themselves in action.

How long will FloodSax® last when stored?

FloodSax® last for 5 years while stored and once expanded at the scene remain effective for up to 3 months. They are UK–manufactured and tested and are ideal for areas vulnerable to flash floods.

Sandbags have to be replaced regularly which costs many thousands of pounds for big companies and local authorities who need palletised sandbags ready all year round for any emergency.

What happens when I've finished with my FloodSax®?

FloodSax® are biodegradable and so can be disposed of in landfill sites. When you want to move the FloodSax, you can even make them lighter by simply adding table salt to the surface of the material - this will reduce the weight of the bag by up to 50%.

Who should have them?

Every home and business is potentially at risk from floods – even if it is a burst pipe. FloodSax® can be used anywhere from professional offices to building sites and from ground–floor flats to the top of skyscrapers.
